The Municipality of Gotland works extensively with international cooperation. The geographical position of the island, in the middle of the Baltic Sea, makes it a natural meeting place for cooperation between regions in the Baltic Sea Region. The region is considered to be one of the fastest growing in Europe. Gotland is a natural part in this development and is also a strong actor in different organisations for cooperation and in several development projects in the area.
